By now, you’re probably aware that the community of Paradise, California has endured as a massive fire, the most destructive in the state’s history. On November 8, the Camp Fire ripped across our ridge and raced toward the valley communities of Chico and Oroville. At this writing, there are 29 dead, 200 missing and more than 6,700 structures destroyed.
Though the physical attributes of our earthly Paradise are destroyed, the spirit of Paradise has spread across the country and around the world, as people are moved to volunteer resources to help. Despite the loss, we recognize that we’re also blessed by the kindness and generosity of others.
In fact, at this point, we have donations of material in excess of what we have resources to distribute. For the immediate future, monetary donations are more useful. You can go direct to our Giving page, if you like. And of course, prayers are always welcome.
Our staff is working hard to re-organize our offices in space generously made available by the Chico Adventist church. All our staff members and the vast majority of our church family have lost their homes. If you need to contact the church office, please understand that we may not be able to respond as quickly as we might like.
Amid this chaos, we see examples of God’s grace. As we have time, we’ll share those with you.
Thank you for your interest and your prayers.
